Hello, I created this page just to confirm that yes, I am a licensed therapist and I do run a private therapy practice in Florida with my wife. This is my career and one I have had for over 20 years. WHERE I WORK: My wife and I run our own private practice, Illuminate Mental Health (yourlifeilluminated.com) and see children, teens and adults. I can see you IN- PERSON if you live in the Jacksonville Florida area, and online ANYWHERE in Florida and Virginia!

INSURANCE: I DO take insurance through Alma (see my profile at https://secure.helloalma.com/providers/matthew-mewhorter/)

In addition, I contract with Telemynd, an agency that provides telehealth therapy for military members and their families

LICENSES: I’m licensed in Florida and Virginia, and can see you online anywhere in those states as long as you’re in those two states.

**VERY IMPORTANT note on confidentiality and HIPPA: Please know that under HIPPA law, your confidentiality is protected, meaning that what we discuss stays strictly between us and is confidentially documented under HIPPA compliant software. THAT SAID, the exception to confidentiality is that I may need to break it if you are at harm or I suspect you risk of being at harm to yourself or someone else.
